The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Elmejor, (1900 Chelmsford), 1pt win, 20/1:
This guy has winning form on the all weather and what could be described the opposite of that, snow racing in St Moritz. Either way, he doesn’t like turf and has been dropped in the weights for two poor turf efforts before a better run at this course back on the artificial last time. He stayed on well there in a fast run 7f race looking like this step up will help. Dropped another generous 2lbs he looks well in now, has a nice draw, and this looks weaker than that last race. The stable is not averse to putting the money down so watch the market closely.
Tomorrow’s Angel, (1634 Carlisle), 10/1: didn’t jump with much fluency in recent reappearance and yet still plugged in gamely for third Agra’s of today’s favourite Folks Like Us. That horse has won subsequently so the Angel is actually 5lbs better off so she should confirm the form. Indeed, she can only brush up her jumping and this stiffer track promises to suit so it’s hard to see why she would be twice the price of her old rival.
Eyes, (1659 Chelmsford), 10/1: a low grade contest but at an extreme distance for 2yos. Several of these have interlocking formlines, and it’s the filly Eyes that looks the value having stayed on relentlessly at the end of her last two starts. She promises to enjoy this even longer trip, and the wide draw should be no hardship if jockey Nicola Currie repeats the hold up in last tactics.
Molivaliente, (1830 Chelmsford), 5/2: Ran with bags of promise at Kempton on his recent belated return, staying on really well under a quiet ride. Won on his second start last season after a promising reappearance and can pull off the same trick here in a race that won’t take much winning.
