Saturday Yankee: Mighty fine…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Mighty Spirit, (1420 Doncaster), 1pt win, 5/1:
She has been in consistently good form this season and goes well for today’s apprentice pilot.  Gets to run off the same mark as when second in a big field at York last time and this looks like a track that should suit her very well.

Neville’s Cross, (1515 Cheltenham), 6/1:  not the most competitive of Pertemps qualifiers and that opens it up for the flying Neville’s Cross.  He has been lumped up the weights for a Hereford romp and this is obviously a tougher track and race, but he looks to be in tremendous form and the booking of Robbie Power is a fine move.

Cobra De Mai, (1550 Cheltenham), 5/1:  won over this course and distance in the Spring of 2019, but started last year in awful form.  Was quietly improving in good races after Christmas, including a good effort here at the Festival.  Hopefully his Fontwell comeback flop was just a matter of blowing away cobwebs as he looks really well in here off a featherweight.

Breanski, (1605 Cheltenham), 9/2:  another who gets to run off an unchanged mark, this despite finishing second at Ascot last time.  Always seems to run pretty well here and with the trainer in form and with apprentice star Dawson claiming a crucial 5lbs, he looks a solid favourite.
