The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Lucky Lucky Man, (1515 Catterick), 1pt win, 15/2:
You have to oppose 6-time course winner Redrosezorro with caution, but a mark of 84 is really pushing the ceiling of his ability. We were on Lucky Lucky Man when he won well in the mud at Hamilton two runs go. Quicker ground didn’t help next time at Ayr although he still ran with credit. Back on the mud, only 2lbs higher than at Hamilton, and with a possibly useful high draw he looks the value.
Highjacked, (1310 Catterick), 2/1: has been in good form whilst staying busy this Autumn. This step back to 5f looks a wise step on this soft ground as he hasn’t quite seen out his races at 6f well enough to build on his Redcar win earlier in the year. Ran a close 3rd only yesterday in a big field at Redcar. As long as he makes the short dash down the A66, then he should line up here with a big winning chance.
Grace And Favour, (1410 Cattercik), 5/2: we have been fans of this improving 3yo filly all season and she has a good chance here to add to her 3 wins. Has been very effective at Musselburgh on soft ground, so this similarly shar track and under-hoof conditions should suit. She keeps edging up the weights, but seems to keep improving and that should be enough.
Carlovian, (1625 Catterick), 9/4: not many of these have very much form to go on. Carlovian though is a three time course winner including as recently as last month. He goes well in the mud so conditions look ideal. His wins have come off marks of 46, 50 and 49, so this mark of 52 asks for a fraction more, but if he was ever to deft that mark it would have to be here, in the mud, and against this level of oppo.
