A welcome Nap winner yesterday when Lucky Lucky Man (15/2 early, 13/2 SP and as big as 11/1 at times) went 2 from 2 when napped by us, both at a tasty price, earning him a coveted, and rarer than we’d like, spot in our Hall of Fame !!

NAP OF THE DAY: Knight Commander , (1340 Taunton), 1pt win, 5/2.
Trainer Shelia Lewis had a runner finish second yesterday, ending a run of six consecutive winners from her tiny Brecon yard. This horse was two of those wins, and although up in the weights can land the hat-trick here. In a race for inexperienced jockeys, the 3lb claim of Katie Powell looks golden given the style of her win on this horse in a faultless start to her jump racing career. Trust them to do it again.
Espresso Freddo, (1315 Nottingham), 7/2: is a couple of pounds well in under a penalty for last week’s Windsor cruise. He can be a bit all-or-nothing, but he is obviously in very good form and in Jamie Spencer he has just the right pilot to coax the best out of a mercurial talent. It takes one to know one.
Almigwhar, (1945 Kempton), 6/4: beautifully bred and has started to make an impact on the all weather this season with an easy maiden and an easy novice win. Dips into handicaps now, and although a high enough mark at first glance, this is a horse who may be capable of top level form on this surface, in which case he could still have plenty in hand.
Tralee Hills, (2015 Kempton), 25/1: a competitive race but it could be worth chancing moody outsider Tralee Hills. He can be very in and out, but his 3 runs for Hayley Turner have finished 1-3-4 at odds of 16s, 33s and 14s. Would probably enjoy a strong pace as he likes to settle well back and come late. Looks overpriced to spring a surprise.
