Sunday Yankee: Aura of invincibility?

A nice winning nap yesterday with Kid Commando (3/1), but one other winner and two seconds made for a frustrating day on the yankee, the near misses are beginning to stack up and a good return feels imminent…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Imperial Aura, (1440 Carlisle), 1pt win, 2/1:

However connections fare in the previous race (see below), stable star Imperial Aura is worth backing on his return.  A hero of ours when landing a Cheltenham festival handicap, that form already looks stellar, and he can start the climb into graded company by taking this decent event.

Imperial Icon, (1405 Carlisle), 7/2:  nicely bred but didn’t show much on his return and is thrown into a handicap off the back of very little experience.  That said the stable is in great form, he is giving weight to bad horses, and he is surely going to be better than this rating in time, and can take an immediate step here with a win.

Tokyo Getaway, (1520 Cork), 5/1:  a useful mare on her day and won us a nice pot when gamely staying in well to win over a long trip over hurdles in the spring.  Seems equally adept over fences and ran nicely on her recent return.  She is at the right end of the handicap and could be hard to hold off over this trip for a yard that continues to excel.

Sojourn, (1545  Carlisle), 4/1: trainer Anthony Honeyball had a day to remember when taking 3 races at Ascot yesterday, a continuation of his great early season form.  This lightly raced chaser has won first time out in each of the last two seasons and getting him fresh could be key.  He looks a decent price given the stable form.
