Monday Yankee: Flat over jumps…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Flat White, (1430 Leicester), 1pt win, 4/1:

We have to respect See The Eagle Fly after her debut win but she looked a character there and carries a penalty.   Some interesting hurdles debutantes, but we’ll trust the experience Flat White gained in her one hurdles run.  That runner up effort against older horses at Uttoxeter augurs well after her import from France.  Bryony Frost retains the ride and she can go one better.

Court Duty,  (1420 Plumpton), 15/8:   Could be a bit of a trap here as he would have to win off a career high under his penalty and has not always produced two good runs in a row.  That said he sauntered to victory at Ffos Las last time and this is no better a race.  With Johnson booked he can follow up if in the mood.

Bandsman, (1500 Leicester), 5/1:  took a crashing fall 2 from home two runs ago.  Was dropped into this lower class last time at Carlisle but was understandably nursed into that race and was a never nearer fourth.  With confidence hopefully restored he can be ridden to win this time, and he has a great to chance to show what he can do down at class 4 level.

Avoid De Master, (1530 Leicester), 7/4: returned as a strong favourite in a similar race at Exeter recently.  Looked a bit rusty there and lost position before staying on again to be a close and closing third. Just a pound higher here in a weaker race and with the rust knocked off and the yard going well deserves to justify favouritism.
