Monday Yankee: Let’s get Ratface-d…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Ratfacemcdougal, (1510 Kempton), 1pt win, 3/1:

He had been running into form gradually since the restart, and flourished with a surging win at Musselburgh last time.  This similar quick flat track should suit and it looks significant that he travels so far south for ideal conditions when there were legitimate targets on today’s Musselburgh card.

Universal Folly, (1240 Musselburgh), 3/1:  has run with credit in two bumpers and two novice hurdles and an opening handicap mark of 110 looks ripe for exploitation.  The step up to 2m4f looks a good call and he has the right man in the saddle for this course.

Raymond, (1350 Musselburgh), 3/1:  has come alight of late, winning well at Perth and then defying a 7lb rise to follow up over this course and distance.  His young claimer has impressed, and he was well on top in the late stages here.  Another 7lb hike makes things harder, but this isn’t a race packed with talent and he can do enough to complete the hat-trick.

Belatrix Lestrange, (1555 Ludlow), 3/1:  most of these have done a lot of racing, but this mare is only just starting out.  Her handicap debut was just ok, but her next run here resulted in a battling win.  That now looks good go with the runner up winning since, whilst the 3rd and 4th have both finished runner up since.  This won’t take much winning and she can follow up,
