NFL: Covering the handicap…

It’s Sunday, and that’s means it’s NFL time. This week we’re going to look for three highly-rated teams to cover their associated spreads.

First up the Atlanta Falcons host the Las Vegas Raiders. The Falcons have had a difficult season, wining only three games from their first 10, and now face a Raiders side with eyes on a playoff place.

The Raiders were under a minute away from sweeping their season series against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and we think they will have enough to overcome a 3-point handicap to win this match.

Next up sees the Cleveland Browns travelling to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Browns are having a good season, steamrolling most of their opponents with a powerful running game. They now take on a poor Jaguars team, who have lost all but one of their 10 games to date, and should be able to overcome a 7-point handicap.

Lastly, the New York Giants travel to the Cincinnati Bengals, having had the advantage of a bye to rest up last week. Despite a 3-7 record, the Giants are only half a game out of top spot in the NFC East. They have recovered strongly from a 0-5 start, and are justifyable favourites for today’s clash.

The Bengals, on the other hand, are on a downward slope, having won only two of their opening 10 games. More importantly, they went all in with the first overall draft pick, quarterback Joe Burrow, only to see him suffer a season-ending knee injury last weekend. With this in mind, we’ll take the Giants to overcome a 6-point handicap.

Raiders, Browns and Giants to all overcome handicaps as a treble, 1 pt, at approximately 6/1, widely avaliable
