The opening game in Sunday’s Premier League schedule sees Southampton host Manchester United, two in-form sides which means this clash has all the makings of an really entertaining match.
The Saints have been very good this season, and victory here would put them back into the top three in the table. However, United’s away form has been very impressive (in contrast to their play at Old Trafford!), winning three out of three in the league this season. Their last away game saw them dispatch Everton with comparative ease, and we’ll look for something similar today as Southampton are unlikely to sit back and try and frustrate.
Bruno Fernandes has been an excellent addition to the United squad, and the Portuguese star is looking to become the fourth United player to score in five successive away league fixtures. We think he will, at a price of 13/8.
Next up is a big London derby, as Chelsea host Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have won their last six in all competitions, but now take on a side coming off a tremendous performance last weekend in beating Manchester City.
Chelsea have tightened up defensively of late, but they are still not the finished article. This Spurs forward line will be a severe test, particularly as the home side the onus is on Chelsea to push forward.
Son Heung-min has scored nine Premier League goals so far this season, an impressive strike rate, and we look for him to net again, at 23/10.
The late game sees Arsenal take on Wolves at the Emirates. Neither team has set the Premier League alight in terms of goals this season, and we’re reluctant to include this game in a bet about goalscorers. We’ll pass.
