There are a couple more games to conclude the Premier League weekend, starting with Leicester hosting Fulham at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes were well beaten in the end at Anfield last weekend, but they had a great chance at 1-0 down to equalise. They are a very good side, who can play the possession game as well as hitting teams on the break. While Fulham have tightened up of late, they are still too open to prosper in this league. Leicester should have too much for them.
Jamie Vardy is in fine form, scoring eight goals in eight league games, but he is priced accordingly. Instead, we’re going to side with James Maddison. The midfield star has scored 13 goals from outside the penalty area, a fair percentage of his 32 career goals, and averages over three shots per game. We think he could have plenty of practice today, and will take SkyBet’s 9/1 that he scores from outside the penalty area.
The late game sees West Ham host Aston Villa, with both teams safely ensconced in mid-table security.
Villa have been getting better results away from home than at Villa Park, but have to do without influential midfielder Ross Barkley tonight after he pulled his hamstring last time out.
The Hammers have been pretty impressive at home this season, if we forget about their opening day loss to Newcastle, and we think they will have the better of this encounter.
Leading striker Michail Antonio could return after recovering from his own hamstring woes, but he’s more likely to start from the bench. With this in mind, we’re going to side with Jarrod Bowen to open the scoring in this likely low-scoring match. Bowen has looked threatening this season, and has netted three times already in this his first season in the top flight.
Leicester/Fulham: Maddison to score from outside the penalty area, 1 pt, at 9/1, SkyBet
West Ham/Aston Villa: Bowen to score first, 1 pt, at 7/1, bet365
