The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Mymilan, (1255 Hexham), 1pt win, 4/1:
He improved significantly for a run last season, winning well at this time of the year and running a blinder at Kelso over this trip. Has had a couple of runs to get straight this season and showed a lot more last time. Still needs to prove he gets home over this trip, but the run to the line here is a lot more forgiving than the long drag at Kelso where he just didn’t quite last.
Overworkdunderpaid, (1355 Hexham), 3/1: an interesting little handicap. Orioninverness loves it here but may not be well handicapped, inversely Absolutely Dylan looks well in but has flopped at this track previously. Overworkdunderpaid may be the one to benefit having gone close over a longer trip last time. A new visor and a drop in trip suggest an aggressive ride which might well work.
Golan Cloud, (1425 Hexham), 5/2: no disgrace in chasing home the extraordinarily well handicapped Bushypark on his reappearance. Looked there like he had progressed further having signed off last year with an impressive all the way heavy ground success. The extra trip is a bit of an unknown but he stays well at shorter trips and should handle it.
Nettlebush, (1525 Hexham), 13/2: the obvious one here is hot favourite and recent course winner Southeast Rose. She should go very well, but she is a short price and the horse who caused her home, Nettlebush, is 5lbs better off. That may not be quite enough but the heavier ground should help, and as a veteran 10yo he may just have needed that comeback run, he looks a little overpriced.
