A truly awful muddy Monday over the jumps has us running to the Kempton sands for today’s yankee…
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Madame Peltier, (1800 Kempton), 1pt win, 5/1:
Some in form rivals here but none more so than this filly. It may only have been a short head margin last time but she arrived in style that day and then battled to hand out the only defeat her rival has suffered in a four race winning binge. A 6lb rise is manageable given the distance they pulled clear of the rest, and a strongly run mile should suit her left ideally.
Dubai Tigress, (1700 Kempton), 2/1: filly looks well in off the same mark as when held by a rapidly finishing short head at Wolves last week. The extra furlong and longer straight here should help and off a handy middle draw she looks a very worthy favourite.
Zayriyan, (1730 Kempton), 11/2: a very low grade handicap but a big chance for Zayriyan to finally land the all weather win that has long been promised since his arrival from Ireland. Didn’t stay 10f so well last time, but had looked likely to land a mile event with a late finish. Likely to get plenty of cover from stall 1, and if Hollie Doyle can bide her time and find a gap he should finally come good.
Commit No Nuisance, (1835 Kempton), 7/1: another tight handicap, but the in form yard of William Knight could hold the key. This 3yo made his handicap debut in a nursery here over a year ago and was a fast finishing third. Wasn’t seen for a year y til reappearing at Wolves last month where he led at the furlong pole only to fade into a close third. The winner there has won again since, and any extra sharpness for that comeback run should help him go close still tonight.
