The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Buck Rogers, (1500 Thurles), 1pt win, 10/1:
Not the highest quality event and in form Buck Rogers could be overpriced. We think the race he took in last time might prove to be a decent event and he made an eye teaching move before fading late on. This could be easier company and he could get back on the winning thread.
Gauloise, (1400 Thurles), 5/4: This should be a match. We love Sayce Gold and although a late developer from a small yard she could be destined for big things, but her wins have been at 3m. Stepping back to 2m is ambitious and she has unfortunately bumped into a promising unbeaten Willie filly in Gauloise. A winner in France she was very impressive here recently, and just may have too much pace at this distance for her talented older rival.
Strange Notions, (1430 Thurles), 7/1: lightly raced and dipped into handicap company off this mark in a very strong event at the Dublin racing festival. Ran a good fifth there in a big field and signed off the season with a maiden win here. If ready to go on this reappearance then she remains potentially well handicapped and in a comparatively shallow event.
Cottie, (1530 Thurles), 3/1: no surprise to see a Willie Mullins trained favourite in the bumper, but this one has been there twice and lost already. Could be worth opposing with Cottie who went close in two bumpers before a reasonable 5th upped in class last time. Dropped back to ordinary bumper company she may have too much for the favourite.
