The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Bigmartre, (1505 Musselburgh), 1pt each way, 25/1:
A useful chaser owned by one of our best friends. That gives us an insight as to when he could be at his best. Dominating from the front over a sharp 2m4f on a flat track suits best, with right-handed Kempton, Perth and Ludlow being fruitful stomping grounds. This track could be ideal although much will depend on the early battle for the pace for which there are one or two potential rivals. Is very well handicapped if able to get that early pace.
Sebastopol, (1320 Musselburgh), 3/1: course form always a plus around this unique track and this fella won well here last season. Was swimming in deep waters at Newbury on reappearance in a class 1 but steps back in class here to level 3 and can put that pipe-opener to good effect.
Racing Pulse, (1430 Musselburgh), 12/1: formerly useful hunter chaser who ran ok in a handicap on seasonal debut. Is entitled to improve a lot for that run, and with his table in form he could be in a winning mark if at peak fitness.
Whiskey Lullaby, (1535 Musselburgh), 5/2: makes a handicap debut after some promising runs in maiden hurdles. A confident Bryony Frost rides and it is always well worth taking note when trainer Nicholls reaches for the first time head-gear.
