The third round of the FA Cup starts tonight, with the highlight being a clash between Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Unfortunately, the Villa first team has suffered a “significant” Covid-19 outbreak, and thus they will be represented largely by players from their Under-23 squad. Liverpool are also likely to freshen things up given a few of their players look fatigued and results have disappointed of late.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain recently made his comeback from injury, starting Liverpool’s last game against Southampton. He is likely to need more miles in his legs, and thus should start tonight. He is never afraid to shoot, and could get plenty of opportunity to do so given the likely weakness of the opposition. We’ll take him to score anytime today.
The second game sees Wolves welcome Crystal Palace to Molineux, with this competition offering both sides their only real hope of success.
Again, we don’t know the makeup of the sides at this point, but with injuries piling up for both sides their options are limited. Wolves are missing key striker Raul Jimenez long term, and Daniel Podence now looks unlikely. This means that Pedro Neto is likely to play, and he has looked very threatening so far this season. We’ll take him to net today.
