The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Lion’s Vigil, (1420 Southwell), 1pt win, 2/1:
No course experience is usually a no-no here, but this lightly raced type has the kind of US breeding that suggests he could improve for this test. He certainly looks the one in here who could be miles ahead of his rating.
Bond Angel, (1350 Southwell), 20/1: loves it around here. Can be forgiven a poor comeback run after a long lay-off and is very interesting now she strips fitter for a stable banging in the winners.
Palazzo, (1450 Southwell), 5/2: another course specialist whose 3 lifetimes wins have all come here. Was pretty encouraging therefore to see him go close at Newcastle, and he can strike now he is back here under top jock Graham Lee.
Rayyan , (1550 Southwell), 3/1: we are big fans of Nick Vedder and were on him when he won here last week. As fans we know he is a mercurial sort and so looks a short price for a horse whom needs a finesse ride. Rayyan is unexposed and could improve over this trip and is value to upset the odds.
