Wednesday Yankee: Houx is on first…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Epson Du Houx, (1350 Naas), 1pt win, 11/4:

By far the least exposed in this field but comes from classy connections and has scope to be better than this opening mark.  Impressed at Clonmel whilst looking sure to be suited by going left handed.  Gets that today and surely has to win this if he wants access to some of the better spring festival handicaps.

Energumene, (1320 Naas), 5/4:  something of a mystery horse whose chasing debut was deeply impressive.  Appears to be well thought of in his leading stable and clearly harbours Cheltenham ambitions.  Gets a decent test today but is expected to pass it with flying colours.

Bob Olinger, (1420 Naas), 6/4:  the race of the day by some margin.  Whilst there are a few interesting types here, it would be a deep disappointment if favourite Bob Olinger fails to deliver.  Well fancied for Cheltenham, he ran well behind the classy Ferny Hollow last time looking like this test should suit.

Danegeld, (1520 Naas), 7/1:  has been raised 7lbs for a handy win at Punchestown.  Looked good there in admittedly lower class, and well worth at least that raise.  Gets in here on a featherweight and could be hard to contain.
