The Divisional Round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs starts tonight, with the Green Bay Packers hosting the Los Angeles Rams in the opening game.
The Rams weren’t spectacular in their win over Seattle last week. They got the job done through a suffocating defence, as has tended to be the case this season. The trouble is they now face one of the best offences in the league, and the number one seed in the NFC.
The Packers have averaged a league-high 31.8 points per game, and as impressive as the Rams have been without the ball you have to believe that Aaron Rogers will score points tonight. The Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff has had an issue with an injured thumb, and we’re uncertain he will be good enough to score the required points to keep his side in the game.
We’re going for the Packers to overturn a 6.5-point handicap, helped by the extra week off to refresh.
The second clash sees the Buffalo Bills hosting the Baltimore Ravens, in what is widely seen as likely to be a very close game.
Both teams has difficult games last week, eventually getting by the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans, respectively. The one thing that really impressed though, was the manner in which the Ravens shut down the Titans’ giant running back Derrick Henry.
In a game which will be played in the cold, bitter conditions of western New York, running the ball will likely be key. The Ravens have the best running attack in the NFL, while the Bills rushing attack has been far more inconsistent.
The Bills have home field advantage, but this is less important in this Covid era, and we’re going to take the Ravens to win the game without having to rely on the 2.5-point handicap.
Packers to overturn a 6.5 point handicap and Ravens to win as a double, 1 pt, at approximately 3/1, widely available
