Tonight’s Premier League game sees Liverpool host Burnley at Anfield.
The Reds have hit a flat spot and could fail to score in four successive Premier League games for the first time in 21 years. They now take on the only side that left Anfield last season with anything other than defeat – Burnley managed to draw.
The visitors started the year pretty well, but they have just lost two on the spin against Manchester United and West Ham. Burnley’s problem this season has been lack of goals – the nine goals they have scored this season is the lowest return of any team in the top four leagues of English football.
So with both teams currently struggling to score, the 18/1 available for a goalless draw does have some appeal. However, we feel that Liverpool have played well, in patches, during the last couple of games and we could easily see the dam breaking.
Although Manchester United left Anfield disappointed with the 0-0 draw on Sunday, they were under the cosh for large spells of the first half and were just hanging on at that point. During that spell Thiago Alcantara ran the show, and we’ll look for him to be the dominate influence tonight. We’ll take the 7/1 on offer that the Spaniard is named man of the match.
