Sunday Yankee: Storm can blow them away…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Storm Force Ben, (1450 Hereford), 1pt win, 2/1:

Has been placed in his three handicap runs, which is better than most of these can boast.  Pushed a decent winner to a length at Exeter last time and that horse has since cruises to another win.  A 2lb hike in retrospect looks very generous and this shallower race offers an ideal chance to break that handicap duck.

Pemberley, (1420 Hereford), 7/2:  we fancied this novice would improve a lot for his chasing debut when we picked him at Huntingdon last time.  He duly ran a big race although couldn’t cope with the winner having a rare going day.  The third from that race won a few days ago, suggesting the 1lb drop in ratings for that run is even more generous that it looked at first.  Should go close in a poor contest.

Mayson Mount, (1440 Lingfield ), 4/1:   The betting favours last week’s easy winner Trixie Waterbury.  She is 8lbs higher and not sure to have the same luck in running, and she has to prove that 33-1 win was no fluke.  Mayson Mount chased her home having tried a run up the inside.  He gets a 7lb pull which wouldn’t have been enough there, but he will surely get a better run than last time and that could be enough to turn the tables.

Fantastic Lady, (1520 Hereford), 9/2:  a decent quality mares novice, but the competitive nature helps keep the market on our side.  Nicky Henderson’s mare impressed on debut when overcoming trouble in running to stay on into a pleasing 4th in a big field at Warwick.  She can be expected to improve for that first ever run, and may be able to progress past some slightly more exposed rivals.
