Wednesday Yankee: Enjoy a nice nap…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Enjoy D’Allen, (1320 Thurles), 1pt win, 3/1:

Had been running consistently well in beginners chases and duly won easily last time in a rated chase (quasi handicap).  The 8lb rise for that win looks more than manageable and he should have a great chance of following up against mostly more exposed rivals.

Verne Castle, (1535 Lingfield), 3/1: in reasonable form as are most of these, the tip comes down to tactics.  This is a small field and almost everything likes to be held up.  The only exception is Verne Castle who has a few “made all”s on his CV.  If he grabs the lead here he could dictate and prove hard to pass.

Takeonefortheteam, (1820 Kempton), 7/1: the market leaders here all like to push the pace and that could set it up for a closer.  This fella has toiled away honestly here since picking up a win in the Autumn and has dropped a key couple of pounds.  Drawn to slipstream the pacesetters, this could be run to suit ideally under in form jockey David Probert.

Murat Asset, (2020 Kempton), 6/1:  ties in closely with tonight’s favourite Cinzento, beating him over 4l in receipt of 7lbs at Wolves before getting beaten 2l at Chelmsford when receiving 3lbs.  Gets 9lbs here although it’s not clear which of the two will benefit more for the step up in trip.  But the weight argument is persuasive at twice the odds.
