Tuesday Yankee: Box clever at Catterick…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Who’s In The Box, (1415 Catterick), 1pt win, 7/2:

An interesting clash at the head of the market.  Informateur steps up to 3m for the first time in an 18 race career, whilst Who’s In The Box steps back to 3m having been a game winner of the marathon Lincoln National.  We prefer the more proven stayer who under a featherweight of 10st 1lb looks too well treated to deny.

Poldark Cross, (1230 Carlisle), 3/1:  trainer Harry Whittington is a friend of the blog and has been having only bad luck for months now, but the drought was broken last week, and this fella looks on an enticing first handicap mark with the form of his last run royally franked at Warwick yesterday.

Don Herbager, (1435 Carlisle), 11/4:  we’ve napped him on his last two runs and he deserves at least a selection here.  Stayed on dourly to win a slog at Exeter last time when beating two previous winners.  Up 7lbs but this stiff test looks to suit for a stable who are notoriously strong when the mud is flying.

Pyramid Place, (1445 Catterick), 7/2:  front runner Maskada should enjoy this track, but she’s up another 8lbs and must be scraping her ceiling.  Pyramid Place was a good winner at Taunton last time, and it looks very interesting that he takes his chance here having been withdrawn from a race at Warwick yesterday.
