Thursday Yankee: Get this Straight…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Straight Swap, (1635 Sandown), 1pt ew, 18/1:

We’ve had to be very patient having napped this guy twice now for him to be a late non-runner each time.  The case for is strong as his novice form is ok and his 8th in a decent run here was much better than it looked having moved into a threatening position at the home bend only to fade badly late on.  Back down a half mile and in what is certainly a weaker event he is an inexplicably large price and we will wade in.

Song Of The Hunter, (1320 Sandown), 7/2:  has been pretty consistent of late and finished well clear of the rest when a decent second at Wetherby earlier this week.  Gets the assistance of one of the best conditional jockeys in the business and looks to have a solid chance.

The Bay Birch, (1405 Leicester), 4/1:   Veteran 10yo mare who is his in her element the muddier it gets.  Has slid to a very attractive mark and ran pretty well last time at Kempton.  Has to beat a Venetia win machine, but the handicapper is having a say there and The Bay Birch may be able to take advantage.

Francky Du Berlais, (1615 Sandown), 6/1: delivered on a consistent run of efforts when forging ahead to win a decent race at Exeter. Closely matched with Eclair Surf on that run, but looked to be going better the further he went and may be the better matched of that pair at this trip.
