NAP OF THE DAY: Stand Up And Fight, (1420 Thurles), 1pt win, 5/2:
Has been trading results with Winged Leader and is fancied to come out on top at this Track which should suit his smooth travelling style. May not have a chance of beating It Came To Pass come Cheltenham, but can take his scalp on this heavy ground.
Espion Du Chenet, (1520 Thurles), 4/1: bang in form and won well here last time, albeit by a short head, with the front two miles clear. Has a weight hike exacerbated by being out of the handicap, but that means he sneaks in off bottom weight which could make him hard to peg back.
Un Prophete, (1435 Huntingdon), 2/1: this is the time of year to be backing the Venetia Williams yard and this fella looked likely to act as a good barometer when sure to break a frustrating sequence of places when tanking along before falling 2 out. Looks sure to give a bold effort from the front.
Hereia, (1505 Huntingdon), 7/2: fascinating contender having shown little before a heavy gamble at Plumpton which came undone with an unseat after just 5 hurdles. Travelled all the way to Musselburgh for compensation only to unseat at the second !! Obvious risks attached, but clearly must have shown more at home than we have yet to see on the track
