NAP OF THE DAY: Flash Collonges, (1405 Kelso), 1pt win, 3/1:
Promising young hurdler for top connections. Form has been a bit in and out but an opening handicap rating of 133 is pretty much a midpoint of what he has achieved. Has potential to be much better and can justify the long trip up from the West Country.
Aso, (1440 Kelso), 7/2: an interesting little race in which the weight conditions make for intrigue. Two For Gold looks a vulnerable favourite and may be battling for the lead with freewheeling National favourite Cloth Cap. Aso looks best in at the weights. The issue with him is the trip although in fairness he has only tried it at the highest level. This is slightly shallower waters and with the ground drying up it could play more to his speed that a stamina test.
Ballywood, (1455 Doncaster), 3/1: Useful two mile chase who has been struggling to get his head in from despite running with credit in good races. Has had a wind op and a spin in a jumpers bumper and this track and these conditions should be ideal. It is a slight drop in class and he can take advantage.
Take It Easy, (1505 Newbury), 7/1: was a good winner on her reappearance at Huntingdon and ran a blinder when 6th of 17 in a big field at Cheltenham. The long break since has kept her away from the winter muck, and as she showed at Huntingdon she can be cherry ripe off a break. Has conditions in her favour and a winnable opportunity.
