A nice winning nap yesterday with Flash Collonges (9/2) proving that market signals can be misleading when defying a big drift with an easy win. Nice to keep momentum going ahead of the big one…
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Livelovelaugh, (1650 Leopardstown), 1pt win, 3/1:
Livelovelaugh represent the form of a good race here recently and seems to have dropped to a winnable mark and it seems significant that Mullins has stayed at home and targeted this race with a horse who has run at five Cheltenham Festivals. Mitchouka represents similar big handicap form and is the main rival but is notoriously hard to win with.
Amor Verdadero, (1545 Leopardstown), 7/1: always dangerous to oppose a Willie Mullins mare on a roll, but he has squeezed 27lbs of improvement out of this Klassy Kay since recruitment and there can’t be much more to come. Last time she beat Amor Verdadero, but with that one’s jockey’s claim she now gets an 18lb weight pull for a 7l beating and that is surely enough to make her value to turn it around.
Stansfield, (1620 Leopardstown), 7/2: a modest novice chase in which this guy arrives in the form of his life. Won very well two runs ago from which a 6lb rise looks more than manageable. Looked sure to follow up over hurdles last time but having seen the race up he folded dramatically in the closing yards to just get caught. Lessons will hopefully have been learnt from that.
Hunters Yard, (1720 Leopardstown), 3/1: was favourite to beat Eyewitness when making his debut so must have been showing plenty at home. Pretty much everything went wrong there and he was a well below third. Reopposes now with a 7lb weight pull and that, plus experience, plus some better luck, can see him turn it around.
