The win yesterday of Mithras (7/2), following on from Zabeel Champion (11/5), gives us a chance to pursue the nap-trick over at the Curragh…

NAP OF THE DAY: Tauran Shaman, (1615 Curragh), 1pt win, 9/1:
Started last season as a warm favourite for the Irish Lincoln. Ran with credit there and particularly so in a hot Galway festival handicap. First time out winners have been coming for the yard, and he may well regain his best after a bit of a break.
Dubai Quality, (1310 Thirsk), 5/1: interesting to see how this Godolphin reject takes to sprinting. Bred to be more of a miler but has looked a short runner in two comeback 7f runs and the fitting of cheekpieces suggests a plan to bounce her out aggressively over 6f, and this race shouldn’t take much winning.
Current Option, (1435 Curragh), 7/1: Not the highest rated here but only 6lbs and 3lbs off the market leaders and yet is the one with the benefit of a recent run. Loves this 7f trip and may be able to raise his game and steal this whilst illustrious opponents are still tuning up.
Lord Dudley (1725 Curragh), 11/2: left all previous form well behind when staying on nicely in a big field at Naas for third place. Can build on that, has an eye catching jockey booking and a handy low weight.
