Champions League: French fancy…

The Champions League is drawing rapidly towards its conclusion with tonight seeing the second leg of the first semi-final, as Manchester City defend a 2-1 lead against Paris St-Germain at the Etihad Stadium.

City recovered from a poor start to dominate the first leg against PSG last week and they should dominate proceedings again tonight, particularly as the French team faces an anxious wait to see if star striker Kylian Mbappe will be fit to play.

The Premier League leaders have no fresh injury concerns, with City manager Pep Guardiola resting Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin de Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias and Phil Foden over the weekend.

We think City will qualify for the Champions League final tonight, but it won’t be easy and their players are very short priced in most markets. PSG will have to try and take advantage of every goalscoring opportunity, and that means throwing players forward for set pieces.

Marquinhos scored a header in the first leg and he has netted in each of this last three games. SkyBet has him at 18/1 to score a header tonight, and we’ll take a punt on the PSG defender.
