NAP OF THE DAY: Eeh Bah Gum, 1pt win, (1615 Redcar), 5/1:
We’ve been let down by this fella many a time before, but it may pay to be forgiving. His rating has slipped a stone since the start of last season and rightly so, but with the stable going well and back at a track he won twice at in his heyday, this could be his best chance for a while.
Vindobala, (1355 Redcar), 6/1: it was only her third handicap start and her first on turf when she beat 13 rivals here last time. Up 4lbs but she did well there having had to wait for room in the last quarter mile and looks decent value to follow up.
Stake Acclaim, (1820 Windsor), 7/2: was a winning nap for us here last time, albeit scraped home in a messy race. Has been raised just a pound for that and with his apprentice jockey getting his full 7lb claim this time he remains on a historically giveaway mark. Can follow up.
Aplomb, (1920 Windsor), 15/8: A useful sprinter for his previous yard and was unlucky not to making a winning start for his nee stable last week at Newbury when going down by the narrowest of margins when we’ll clear of the rest. Tries to strike before his rating is adjusted and should go very well under Ryan Moore.
