Sunday Yankee: Jaw dropping…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Jawwaal,  (1515 Doncaster), 1pt win, 3/1:

A tight little handicap but the useful Jawwaal has excellent course form and has been hinting at a return to winning ways including when meeting trouble at Windsor in his last start.  With the rapid Caspian Prince likely to string it out the traffic issues should be less of a problem.

Jebel Dukhan, (1545 Doncaster), 11/4:  Siam Fox was very impressive last time but has been clobbered for that.  Instead handicap debutant Jebel Dukhan makes plenty of appeal stepping up in trip for trainer Sir Mark Prescott who has hit his customary red hot mid-Summer form.

Fire In The Rain, (1608 Salisbury), 5/1:  makes her handicap debut after some reasonable maiden efforts.  Was unlucky to run into a Royal Ascot filly when trounced last time but still ran ok and looks good value with Hollie Doyle keeping the ride.

Alerta Roja,  (1710 Salisbury), 11/4:   Filly is bred for middle distances but has shown nothing in shorter maiden races.  This is the classic preparation from trainer Prescott, and the market won’t be caught napping, but equally it would be a big surprise if she didn’t show significant improvement.
