Thursday Yankee: Boom to make a bang…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Boomshalaa, (1500 Newmarket), 1pt win, 9/2:

A potentially useful sprinter who made his first venture into handicap company at Royal Ascot where he went down by a head after a less than clear run through.  The extra furlong here looks likely to suit and his previous win on quicker ground suggest the going is no issue.  Should go very well.

Shamfizz, (1525 Doncaster), 4/1:  filly sprang a surprise when landing a Yarmouth maiden on her reappearance.  There didn’t look to be anything lucky about it and an opening mark of 73 looks more than fair.  Heavy ground is a bit of an unknown, but she looks pretty good value in a less than inspiring field.

Legendary Day, (1645 Newmarket), 7/2: has been hiked up in the weights for winning two small races easily, but an improving 3yo can be lethal in all-aged handicaps at this time of the year.  Still seems on a workable rating and Oisin Murphy is always a welcome sight next to one of our tips.

Maxine, (1725 Epsom), 3/1:  improving 3yo filly who followed a couple of soft ground romps with a good ground staying on second at Lingfield off this elevated rating. Back on a soft surface there is every chance she can resume her romping ways.
