The Open Championship starts on Thursday from Royal St. George’s in Kent, southeast England.
In our first post on the subject we mentioned that we thought Jon Rahm was the most likely winner, but his starting price was a little on the tight side.
The tee times for the first round have now been published and the Spanish star starts relatively early at 9:58 am local time. This means he is likely to get the course at its most pristine for his opening round.
As a way of getting Rahm on our side, but at a bigger price, we going to take a punt on the Spaniard leading after the first round at 18/1.
Additionally, if he was to start well, we think he would have not only the class but also the bottle to hang on to the end. Thus we’ll take a punt on him winning wire-to-wire, I.e. leading after every round.
Rahm to be first round leader, 0.5 pt, at 18/1, BetVictor
Rahm to win wire-to-wire, 0.5 pt at 80/1, SkyBet
