The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Air To Air, (1920 Doncaster), 1pt win, 3/1:
One of our big Royal Ascot picks when well fancied for the Britannia. 9th felt a big disappointment although several of those around him have won big races since. The race didn’t quite go to plan including a lost shoe, and he should be given another chance back at a track where he won so well the time before.
Louby Lou, (1345 Redcar), 12/1: had shown zero in five races before waking up midway through a course and distance race last week. Absolutely flew home for 6th then and surely only needs to be at it from the off this time to comprehensively overturn the form with those in front. Support in the market often speaks volumes for this stable and it would be no surprise to see a bandwagon take this filly close to favouritism.
Machree, (1550 Redcar), 4/1: has won on both previous visits here. After a long quiet spell, ran much better at Catterick last time and looks to be coming right just in time for his return here. Likely to try and make all and can complete a double for the stable.
Stone Circle, (1813 Doncaster), 6/1: would be an absolute shoo-in if able to find the form that saw him win a decent Ascot event off a higher mark last season. Showed signs of life here two runs ago and again at Newmarket last time. Fitting a visor looks a good call, and he could be ready to strike again at last.
