Champions League: Success with Sancho…

Tonight sees the return of the group stages of the Champions League, with Manchester United starting the boll rolling against the Swiss champions Young Boys.

United welcomed back Cristiano Ronaldo with open arms to Old Trafford on Saturday, with the Portuguese superstar netting twice. He’s included in the match squad for his first Champions League trip with the Reds since featuring in the 2009 final, and the showman that he is will be looking to go one better.

However, this is game that United could get some joy on the break, and we prefer to side with younger players with pace. The visitors spent a lot of money on Jadon Sancho over the summer for this sort of occasion, and we’ll take a punt on the young Englishman scoring a double this evening.

Later in the evening, Chelsea start their defence of their title with a game against Zenit St. Petersburg from Stamford Bridge.

Russian champions Zenit only picked up one point in their six Champions League games last season, and face a very tricky task tonight with the Blues unbeaten in five games this season.

Chelsea have kept clean sheets in 12 of their 16 home games under manager Thomas Tuchel, and new addition Romelu Lukaku has looked very sharp. He scored twice at the weekend against Aston Villa, and netted four goals in five appearances in the Champions League for Inter Milan last season. We’ll take a punt he scores a hat trick today, at 11/1.
