Monday Yankee: Return of the Mac…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Mac Ailey, (1630 Hamilton), 1pt win, 5/2:

Ran a huge race when third at Ayr last week. That was just a day after a fair fourth at Beverley and the form of that Ayr race is already working out well.  Has winning form on heavy ground so won’t be put off by this softer surface and looks a very good bet.

Absolute Dream, (1417 Hamilton), 3/1:  in excellent form and should handle this ground having won on soft in the past.  By some margin the strongest candidate in a race that won’t take much winning.

Winnetka, (1545 Leicester), 2/1:  has yet to win but has gone very close of late.  Has tried all trips from 5f to 8f, but a strongly run race at this trip looks likely to be ideal conditions.  Jockey Mollie Phillips takes off a useful 5lbs and the combination look worthy favourites.

Amal, (1620 Leicester), 11/1:  won off a mark of 55 earlier this Summer.  Has struggled off higher ratings since but ran her best race for some time last time out and has now dropped all the way back to 54.  Has one of the more experienced apprentices on board and is reasonable value in a weak event.
