The PGA Tour heads to Sin City this week, with the Summit Club in Las Vegas hosting the CJ Cup.
The vast majority of the victorious American Ryder Cup team are teeing up this week, nine out of the twelve, but there could still be an air of after the Lord Mayor’s show for a number of them.
With this in mind we are looking for players with particular motivation to play well. Top of our list is Xander Schauffele.
The young American is obviously playing well. He won the gold medal in the Olympics and pocketed three points from four matches in his debut Ryder Cup. That said, he has not won on the PGA Tour since January 2019.
He finished runner up at this event last year, admittedly at a different course, and we feel this could be his time to shine.
Back in Europe, the famed Valderrama course hosts the Andalucia Masters this week.
Jon Rahm is the clear favourite, but we did well to steer clear of him last week thinking fatigue could catch up with him at a short price. Our tip, Adri Arnaus, came so close, losing in a playoff.
We’ll avoid the world no. 1 again this week and side with another Spaniard on the country’s most renowned course. Adrian Otaegui is starting to show some form. He finished tied 17th last week at a course that favoured the bombers off the tee. This week suits more precision, and we think he could go close.
CJ Cup: Schauffele to win, 1 pt, at 14/1, William Hill
Andalucia Masters: Otaegui 0.5 pts each way at 45/1, 1/5 the odds for the first six places, Unibet
