NAP OF THE DAY: Raasel, (1625 Nottingham), 1pt win, 2/1:
The Notts card is illuminated by the ongoing battle between Oisin Murphy and William Buick, and it could be a thrill if, as we expect, Buick rattles a few in today. Ran some useful 2yo races including winning on soft on debut. Missed last year but has been amazing since his return with two easy wins. Looks unlikely the handicapper has caught up with him yet.
Medyaf, (1300 Nottingham), 5/2: one for the Buick-Gosden combo. The stable often targets this track at this time of year for unleashing some useful types. On breeding Medyaf looks a likely contender, and although this is his racecourse debut, his stable usually have them well schooled and ready to go.
Rockfire, (1330 Nottingham), 7/4: another Gosden-Buick newcomer and arguably even better bred than Medyaf. Add in opposition where only one realistic contender has racecourse experience and this looks a very winnable debut opportunity.
Peace Offering, (1405 Nottingham), 7/2: the third of the Gosden-Buick newcomers and the one with the hardest task with some decent rivals on pedigree as Candy Kitchen who sets a good standard for those who have run. All that said, this is another decently bred individual. She may not have the gloss on the pedigree of her stablemates earlier in the card, but she still looks a likely option on breeding and obviously could benefit from a bandwagon impact of the first two go in.
