Wednesday Yankee: Hayley on De one?…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Devaste, (1700 Newmarket), 1pt win, 15/2:  ran away with a Bath maiden on only previous run for jockey Hayley Turner.  Ran ok here in nursery debut and ran a big race here when a fair 8th in a big field sales race as a 100/1 shot.  This looks much more suitable, a mark of 73 looks generous, and with Turner back in the saddle he looks worth a punt.

Social Contact, (1300 Newmarket), 1/1:  we don’t often venture into short priced maidens, but even at these odds Social Contact looks a bit of a steal.  Ran a mighty debut at Newcastle when a close up 4th behind 3 rivals with racecourse experience.  Now she is the one with the know how and this field contains little to be concerned about.  Should win easily.

Tide Of Time, (1455 Navan), 4/1:   veteran sprinter who just loves this track at this time of year.  His lifetime form here running after 1 Oct is 115414132.  The runner up effort came just recently and that form has already received a reasonable boost.  His mark of 85 doesn’t leave a lot of headroom, but in a race light on dangers he should go pretty close to another end of year Navan win.

Wizard D’Amour,  (1930 Kempton), 7/1:  an interesting little handicap and Irish import Hazel looks sure to come good soon.  But this looks the chance for lightly raced 3yo Wizard D’Amour.  He won his novice event on all weather debut and was a good third back on that surface last time when running on well in a decent event.  This looks a good chance to improve his record on synthetics.
