NFL: Hopkins to haunt Texans…

The early televised game in the NFL sees the Baltimore Ravens hosting the Cincinnati Bengals, with the Ravens widely expected to win this clash.

The Ravens are now very much in the talking about potential SuperBowl champions, but the Bengals have only lost two games – only one more than their opponents – and both of those reverses have come by a margin of three points. Cincinnati have become very strong against the run, the area the Ravens are likely to target, and a tight, low-scoring game could ensue. With this in mind, we’ll take the Bengals with a 6.5 point lead.

The biggest mismatch this Sunday, judging from the spreads offered by the bookies, sees the Arizona Cardinals hosting the Houston Texans, having to give up a 20.5 point lead.

The Cardinals have been outstanding this season, and in DeAndre Hopkins they have an outstanding wide receiver who used to ply his trade with the Texans. He is averaging a touchdown per game so far this season, and will be keen to show the Texans exactly the kind of talent they threw away. We think he will score a TD today.

The late game sees the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Indianapolis Colts.

The hosts are on a run of three consecutive defeats while the Colts have won two in the same time frame and their one defeat came in overtime against Baltimore – yet the 49ers are favourites! We’ll take the Colts with a 3.5 point handicap advantage.

Recommendations:

Baltimore/Cincinnati: Bengals to win with 6.5 point spread at 9/10

Arizona/Houston: Hopkins to score TD anytime at 4/5

San Francisco/Indianapolis: Colts to win with 3.5 point spread advantage at 10/11
