The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Stormy Antarctic, (1915 Kempton), 1pt win, 5/2:
Useful sort is rated much the best here. Has 3lbs in hand on doubtful stayer Misty Grey and upwards of 8lbs on the rest. Hasn’t sent the surface here too often but his few raids have been pretty respectable efforts and suggest he should close enough to his rating to land the odds.
Master Richard, (1815 Kempton), 8/1: hadn’t shown an awful lot on turf, but has been much better the last twice since switched to this surface. Has run on well both time over Newcastle’s stiff 7f, and the mile here should only see him improve. This doesn’t look a daunting assignment and he is good value.
Bearwith, (1845 Kempton), 4/1: another who seems to have improved for the all weather surface. Romped home at Wolves, and was a warm favourite here three days later but got run down near the line after navigating an awful draw. Is up another 5lbs, but is bang in form and the draw has been crucially much kinder this evening.
Naval Commander, (2015 Kempton), 7/2: hasn’t had much all weather experience but ran ok in two early tries. Has had a decent season on turf and rounded it off with a very respectable 9th in the Cambridgeshire. That is by far the best any of these can offer and he can make the class drop tell.
