Saturday Yankee: En-ticing prospect…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Enrilo, (1500 Newbury), 1pt win, 6/1:

Eklat De Rire would have an obvious favourite’s chance for dynamic duo of de Bromhead and Blackmore, but he needs to show that ground this quick suits.  Enrilo on the other hand has plenty of good ground form, has won at this track and his run style of idling in front means he doesn’t get overly penalised for his wins.  He will need to be finessed for a late challenge but Harry Cobden is up to the task.  Expect some each way prospects for The Hollow Ginge.

Kalooki, (1315 Newbury), 5/1:  second season chasers Killer Clown and Kalooki look the two to focus on here.  Kalookie looked very good here at the start of last season.  He didn’t cut it at top level but returned here to go very close on his last start.  The Hobbs stable have been in much better form this season and he could make a winning return back at this track.

Masters Legacy, (1350 Newbury), 7/2:  another who has signalled the resurgence in the Hobbs yard form when getting up on the post to win a quality event at Chepstow. Not many in here have similar credentials and the narrow win has earned only a 2lb rise which looks overly generous and he can prove it here.

Glen Forsa, (1405 Newcastle), 6/1: was previously a very useful novice and promising chaser for Mick Channon.  Started this calendar year rated 150 but had a miserable time.  Changed yards to Charlie Longdon and ran with much more zest on reappearance at Ascot when leading the field a merry dance before fading late on.  Similar aggressive tactics could be ideal around this track and with the benefit of a run he could last home.
