Sunday Yankee: Autumn to defy fall…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Autumn Evening, (1510 Fairyhouse), 1pt nap, 9/1:

Useful 4yo who seems to be making some big steps forward.  Was an easy handicap winner at Listowel, and was running a big race next time at Navan against some classy types when unseating 2 out.  Gets some weight from the likes of Eskylane and can make that tell.

My Mate Mozzie, (1305 Fairyhouse), 2/1: the top early season novice hurdle in Ireland, but the suspicion is that unseasonally quick ground may mean we haven’t seen the best of this class yet.  This consequently looks a notch below the norm, but that won’t worry Gavin Cromwell who send unbeaten hurdler My Mate Mozzie here and he has a good favourite’s chance of holding off the Elliott entries.

Lifetime Ambition, (1335 Fairyhouse), 5/2:  was a late bloomer over hurdles, looking frustrating after a series of placed efforts before two deeply impressive end of season wins.  Was always bred to be a chaser and jumped impeccably on debut to beat Beacon Edge.  Can confirm those placings and may just have too much class for similarly fluent jumper Gabynako.

Forza Milan, (1405 Fairyhouse), 8/1:  has often promised he could deliver a decent prize on a going day.  Was a reasonable 4th here last year and ran very well at Cheltenham last time despite not getting the best of runs through the race.  Has an excellent 7lb claimer booked and an effective post-claim rating of 125 looks pretty juicy.
