The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Israr, (1445 Newbury), 1pt win, 7/2:
Beautifully bred and lightly raced from a top yard. Ran third on reappearance at Newmarket when not looking entirely happy in the dip there. This conventional track should suit and a mark of 89 should be a significant underestimate if able to live up to the family history.
Tiber Flow, (1335 Newbury), 5/2: has done all his running on all weather tracks to date, looking impressive and progressive. Has a big winning chance if reproving that form on turf. A strong US influence in the breeding supports good all weather form, but good ground on a very conventional track like this is the best chance of a turf reproduction and he is well worth risking.
Haymaker, (1425 Newmarket), 11/4: made all to win well over 7f last time showing the kind of speed that suggests this step back to sprinting could be beneficial. Has gone up in the weights but that is more than offset by star apprentice Harry Davies’ 7lb claim and should make all again.
Saleymm, (1500 Newmarket), 7/2: ran freely from the front when just failing to last home in the Lincoln on seasonal debut. Was given a more conservative ride here last time and didn’t seem to run to his best. This step back in trip should prompt a reversion to prominent tactics and he is undoubtedly weighted to go close.
