Premier League: Ollie, Ollie, Ollie…

The penultimate Premier League game week ends this evening, with the televised game seeing Aston Villa hosting Burnley at Villa Park.

Looking at results, it may seem as if Aston Villa’s players are already at the beach, with Steven Gerrard’s team having won just two of their past nine. However, they were eight minutes away from beating Crystal Palace last time out, and the game before they took a shock lead against title-chasing Liverpool.

They were convincing 3-1 winners in the reverse fixture at the start of the month and this is their last home game of the season.

Burnley have the motivation. They are one point off safety, having played one game fewer than relegation rivals Leeds. Win their final two fixtures and they’ll remain in the Premier League for another campaign.

We can see Villa starting quickly, wanting to impress the home support, but we’re not quite sure that translates into a win after 90 minutes given Burnley’s obvious desire. That said, Ollie Watkins has scored three goals in his last four top-flight games, and we’ll take him to open the scoring tonight.
