Goodwood – Galway Saturday: Summer Lovin’….

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  Summerghand, (1520 Goodwood), 2pts win, 14/1:

A winner of this race two years ago off an 8lb higher mark he is certainly no stranger to his blog.  We were sweet on him at Ascot where he ran a good 5th at huge odds.  That confirmed he is getting well handicapped, and although not the monster odds of last time, he still looks pretty juicy and well worth a good bet.

Soapy Stevens, (1410 Goodwood), 11/2:  a cracking handicap in which the in form Bague D’Or, Cemhaan and Soapy Stevens make the most appeal.  Cemhaan has the edge on the numbers, but Soapy Stevens can turn that around as he seems to be in top form and bails from a yard that excels at this meeting.

Ajero, (1630 Goodwood), 5/1:  Tuesday’s easy winner Forest Falcon is well handicapped under a penalty but is not certain to handle the quick turnaround.  Ajero is an excellent-jumper whose limited flat career took an upwards turn when runner up at Royal Ascot. Faded late there and this are down in trip looks ideal.

Insane Bolt, (1720 Galway), 5/1:  represents a red hot stable having a fabulous Galway week.  Nearly added to that tally when placed over hurdles here earlier in the week and looks well weighted to strike back on the flat.
