Premier League: Home James…

Sunday’s big game in the Premier League comes from Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspur in a London derby which has produced plenty of passion over the years.

Spurs impressed on the opening weekend with a 4-1 win over Southampton, while the Blues laboured to 1-0 win over a poor Everton side. However, recent form has all been in Chelsea’s favour – they beat today’s opponents four times last season, and Tottenham have only beaten them once in the league at Stamford Bridge since February 1990.

While Chelsea struggled up front against Everton, they looked very solid at the back – that’s why we’re edging towards the Blues for this encounter. They don’t have a traditional center forward, but goals could come from a variety of sources. Reece James scored 6 times in the Premier and Champions Leagues last season, and has a very fluid role in this Cgelsea team. We’ll take the 11/1 on offer that he scores anytime today.

The early game sees Nottingham Forest host West Ham at the City Ground, looking for their first points in the Premier League after a 23-year wait.

Forest lost 2-0 to Newcastle last Saturday and looked exactly what they are – a new team trying to find its identity after manager Steve Cooper handed debuts to eight of their summer signings. West Ham also lost on the opening weekend of the season, but that was against defending champions Manchester City and they are clear favourites heading into this game.

Forest will undoubtedly press the Hammers this afternoon, but that could leave them vulnerable on the break, particularly against the pace of Jarrod Bowen. The England international comes off an outstanding season for the Hammers, must be full of confidence and we’ll take him to open the scoring at a hefty price of 7/1.

Recommendations:

Chelsea/Tottenham: James to score anytime, 1 pt, at 11/1, bet365

Notts Forest/West Ham: Bowen to score first ,1 pt, at 7/1, Paddy Power
