Saturday Yankee: Gulliver’s travels north can land giant prize…

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  Gulliver, (1540 Ayr), 2pts win, 14/1:

Selecting against both Chiefofchiefs and Summerghand looks a recipe for disaster, but we like a high draw today where last year’s trailblazing winner Bielsa offers a good target.  Old Gulliver represents a yard that has cleaned up in big handicaps all summer.  He has the highest draw, has run third in this race 3 years ago and finally drops to the same mark.

Revich, (1330 Ayr), 5/1:  won this race last year and return off just a 1lb higher mark.  Seems to love the course and looked to be going ominously well here just 2 days ago over a longer trip before the file ran out.  This is his ideal race and he can outclass some mainly limited rivals.

Jump The Gun, (1430 Ayr ), 9/1: we’ll risk the high numbers on the straight course and they should get a good tow in this race from the rapid Hyperfocus.  That makes Jump The Gun interesting as he is wholly unexposed dropping back to this trip.  He will need to be sharper from the stalls, but his recent win here over 7f when clear at this distance overs hope that there could be improvement off what is sure to be a very fast pace.

Brazen Bolt, (1645 Ayr), 3/1:  trainer John Quinn must have some friends in the handicapper’s office as how this horse is still rated 80 after a season of wins and good runs is baffling.  Only went up 2lbs for a cosy Epsom win last time and this easy 7f is ideal for him.   Can outclass his lower rated rivals.
