Saturday Yankee: Enjoy the Jimi Hendrix experience…

The Daily Yankee:

NAP OF THE DAY:  Jimi Hendrix, (1540 Newmarket), 2pts win, 10/1:

Previous winner Majestic Dawn is interesting off a big weight whilst Geremia could outrun monster odds.  But this race has recently tilted significantly to high draws and tempting as it is to back Bell Rock for the third year in a row for this race, the younger Jimi Hendrix looks the one from a very high draw.  Won at Newmarket in July and had no chance from a terrible draw last time.

Count D’Orsay, (1440 Haydock), 5/1:  keeps landing each way money for us without getting in front, including when napped for third in the Portland last time.  May have had too much early use made of him there and on a course and ground that suits he can finally land the prize if ridden with more early restraint.

Frankenstella, (1525 Chester ), 6/1: loathe as we are to oppose blog hero Alfred Boucher, there is good reason to think his York victim Frankenstella could reverse the form.  This longer trip on softer ground can play to her strengths whilst the 6lb weight turnaround is an added bonus.

Gordon Bennett, (1555 Curragh), 5/1:  a dash where softened ground could blunt a bit of speed.  That makes Gordon Bennett interesting as he rarely runs over this short a trip and risks being outpaced, but he is in great form, will be staying on best, and may just get there on this surface.
