European Golf: Green to take gold in Portugal…

The DP World Tour heads this week to the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura for the Portugal Masters.

The course is flat and exposed, with length a big advantage as many holes set up well for big-hitters. With this in mind we’re going to side with the talented Gavin Green. The Malaysian player has length off the tee and has been playing well of late, finishing runner-up in the Czech Masters, then 11th in the Mallorca Open on Sunday. He ended up was 17th at this event last year and is playing better this time around.

Across the pond, the PGA Tour heads to the North Atlantic for the Bermuda Championship.

The event has struggled to attract many star players, with Tour maiden Denny McCarthy leading the betting. We’re reluctant to take relatively short prices on a player that hasn’t won at this level before, and instead will side with a player just starting to make his way in the game.

Brandon Wu enjoyed a great amateur career before winning the 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Championship. He made his debut in this event last year, and has shown the ability to perform in windy conditions, including coming sixth in the Scottish Open in July.
