Saturday Yankee: Atrium – hall or nothing…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Atrium, (1610 Newbury), 2pts win, 6/1:

This 4yo was a good handicapper last year finishing in good style to deliver two smooth Autumn wins.  Has been bogged down in heavy ground in on both starts this season, but now returns to a decent surface still on a winnable mark and with Moore in the saddle…

Silver Sword, (1500 Newbury), 12/1:  a well contested quality handicap and one to watch the market for significant moves.  Silver Sword is coming along well and was very impressive in a weak race last time. This is a massive step up in class, but he gets in off a light weight and his small stable are likely to have his prep at the top of the yard list.

Light Infantry,  (1535 Newbury), 12/1:   Not completely taken by those at the head of the market for this prestigious Group 1.  David Simcock’s Light Infantry was hard to win with last year but ran well in some top races and could just be capable of winning this with the race likely to be run to suit.

Aplomb, (1718 Newbury), 11/1: formerly useful sprinter who has lost form and dropped a long way in the weights.  Showed a bit more last time when fifth here, despite having a woeful record first time out, and may be about to become the latest example of trainer  Chappell-Hyam’s ability to revitalise los careers.
